Brightleaf Stables Horse Camp is an exciting day camp where your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all things horse-related. Campers will get to spend time becoming familiar with horses, learning to ride, and making new friends.
Our campers gain insight into the everyday care of horses including feeding and nutrition, grooming, and tacking up. We will teach all riders the importance of safe horsemanship and how to read and respond to our gentle equine teachers.
A normal camp day consist of basic horse care and riding lessons. Campers will also participate in educational games and activities, crafts and nature hikes. Children will learn the power of natural horsemanship, equine anatomy, breeds and colors, and the importance of farm chores and upkeep. Our days while structured are also flexible to the groups age, skill level, and interests. This flexibility allows us to adjust our traditional curriculum to keep campers engaged and challenged to ensure fun for all.
- Closed toed shoes and comfortable weather conscious clothing are a must.
- Helmets are available for use while on the premises, but campers are encouraged to bring their own.
- Sun is fun – lets keep our skin safe from it though! Wear/bring sunscreen!
Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided during the duration of camp.
