What was once an old Mule barn has evolved into the centerpiece of Brightleaf Stables. Our unique quadrilateral horse stable is framed with sturdy stalls. We are a low key, low stress barn that offers horse boarding in Durham where you can spend quality time with your horses at an affordable price. Enjoy miles of private trails right on the premises.
We have designated areas for tack, feed rooms, and a hay loft packed with our family plowed hay available for all season. The barn is built on high and dry footing perfect for our hooved friends.
Here at Brightleaf Stables we cherish the herd mentality of our horses. Horses are minimally stalled and spend most of their time in pasture. Pastures have sturdy fencing, run in sheds, wooded areas, water sources, and are all well maintained. Horses are stalled during feeding (2x/day) and inclement weather.
Board includes use of all facilities, hay, feeding, and turn out. You provide your own feed (pick up of feed can be arranged if needed). Owners live on site and care for all horses like their own.

Boarding Requirements:
“Save the drama for your mama!” We pride ourselves on being a drama free barn. All disciplines welcome.
All horses must be UTD on shots and coggins including strangles.
Brightleaf will not house/board ANY aggressive behavior from horse or horse owner.
Cost:
Pasture Board is $500 per month if you provide your own feed.
Pasture Board is $600 if we provide feed.
Prices are subject to a hay surcharge yearly.
Full Stall Board starts at $850 that includes coastal hay and $1200 that includes alfalfa hay.
